Bethany Mota by Amy Spencer

Bethany Mota, 18, is an average teenage girl who started becoming popular after gaining nearly 600 million video views. She also received enough subscribers to surpass famous stars such as Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and Ariana Grande. She had the worst experience of her life during middle school, where she was bullied by her so-called friends. They made fun of her pictures by posting them online, and filled them with nasty comments. Although Bethany put on a brave act, she was actually dying inside. She had so much anxiety and struggled to be around people. Bethany started homeschooling and managed to put her anxiety at ease. After a while, she became lonely. From there, she discovered videos on Youtube and it inspired her to make her own. Bethany opens up about how she found the confidence to speak up, saying, "She wants to use her voice to inspire others and show the world who she really is."
