For One More Day by Mitch Albom
This story is about a man named Charles Bennetto, who had lost hope in continuing his life after his mother, Pauline (known as Posey) died. Bennetto had separated with his wife, and was not invited to his only daughter's wedding. One fateful day, when he decided to finally end his life, he was involved in an accident. Although he was badly injured, he was given another chance to live. Bennetto had walked to his old house in Pepperville Beach, the place where he grew up as a child. Upon entering the house, he heard his mother call his name from upstairs. His mother attended to his wounds he received from the accident. This surprised Bennetto who was observing his mother's actions, as she was already dead.
